Guest Speaker Summary #2

Today in my PED 350 class we had a guest speaker in class which was Bill Popp, the Athletic director of Reinhardt University. A few key points he spoke about were:

     -Coach Popp’s History- did not get masters but important to get one.
     - Athletics help increase the students-255 Athletes this yr
      -Goal- to create a procedure book on how to be the AD at Reinhardt if he were to leave
      -He has Athletic team goals with the coaches every yr
       -They use Front Rush to recruit which is a recruiting funnel
      -All athletic teams get 6 full scholarships that’s it.
      -He also deals with all athletic budgets.

Coach Popp basically told us how to be successfull with athletics and being an athletic director.
He also stressed that you have to pay your dues to get where you want to be.
